Scripture Reference: Hebrews 13: 14-21

Isn’t it much more than just a consolation that this o’ so broken World that we currently live in, is not “our home”? I mean think about it if you will.. all the stress to have the perfect relationships, marriages, families, jobs, careers and by society’s standards all the accumulation of things that are ever so strategically dangled in front of us as we “reach for the stars” isn’t even ours to desire. As I write this, I’m fighting back emotions from the passing on of my beloved Auntie Flossie.. but with a joy unspeakable and full of glory that when she hears her name called and she awakens face to face with Our LORD, all that she labored for while here on this Earth will not have any significance as she will be changed from mortal to immortality in the twinkling of an eye!!! So let’s dive into the Scriptures so that we too who are yet alive and remain can usher in the focus to dismiss the things of this World which is not our home!!!

Final Thought: There is a song that was ringing in my ears and dancing in my heart as I wrote this: “We Shall Be Changed”!!! If you’ve never heard it, that’s okay it derives directly from 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52. In fact when you make the time, read the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 15.. everything will make more sense once you do. We were never created to get comfortable here on Earth but rather to worship our Creator, obey His commands and to live lives that are holy and pleasing to Him. (Romans 12:1) Instead, our lives have become complicated, self-absorbed and hampered by the endless “pursuit of happiness” in this present World. (2 Timothy 3: 1-5) My Brothers and Sisters, this ought not to be so and was never intended from the very beginning of the World. I urge you to consider where your heart is right now.. is it on Earthly things such as relationships, status, wealth and building your brand? Or, maybe just maybe the very thoughts of notoriety, fame and an “all eyes on me” mentality have warped us so much so that we find ourselves consumed by who looks back at us in the mirror every morning. Whatever it may be that is hindering you from letting go of chasing more in this World, just remember that GOD said: this World is not your home…
