Scripture Reference: John 11:3-4, 11-15, 20-26
“Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.”
John 11:3-4 KJV
Why is it that we find ourselves in whatever situation that it may be, we do not think of it as a point of emphasis wherein Our Mighty GOD will get the Glory out of it?
“These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.”
John 11:11-15 KJV
Why is it that we misinterpret the underlying purpose for the conditions, problems, struggles and/or occurrences that we face in this present World?
“Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
John 11:20-26 KJV
Why is it that we continue to seek our will rather than the will of Our Omnipotent GOD when all He is asking us to do is believe that He alone is more than capable of doing things that exceed what we could ever ask Him to do? Why do we make things harder on our minds and hearts, when all He is asking us to do, is simply believe?
Final Thought: I can personally count so many times that situations have come about whether physically through sickness, emotionally through losses and/or mentally through what seem to be insurmountable trials and tests. It’s taken since the loss of my Pops on December 19, 2022 for me to realize that even in his death (yes you read it correctly) GOD got the Glory!!! I mean how could I yet still be standing, if it wasn’t for the Holy Spirit alive inside of me? How could I forget that GOD saw fit to take him out of the misery that he was going through in his body, with a promise to raise him in a new body on that great and terrible day when JESUS returns?
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:50-57 KJV
You see, so even in death Our GOD still gets the Glory! Our goal is when the tough seasons come (even unto death), we be ready and armed with His Holy Spirit so that no matter what happens to us and in this natural life, we continue to keep our eyes on the prize because even death, a casket sealed shut and a grave can’t hold us back from living eternally with our Savior, if we die in Him!!!
“So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: it is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”
1 Corinthians 15:42-49 KJV
