Scripture Reference: Nehemiah 2:17-20, Nehemiah 4:1-6

In these passages of Scripture, the work that GOD had given to Nehemiah was opposed and challenged by Sanballat who didn’t want to see the people succeed in rebuilding the city of Jerusalem. So much so that King Artaxerxes (who ruled at that time) was petitioned not to allow the construction to take place. Now imagine our GOD giving you a work to do that is met with stumbling blocks set by those who either are jealous of how GOD is using you, upset because they themselves weren’t chosen for the task or simply do not have the relationship with GOD that you do. Would you allow that to stop you, no matter if you are threatened, seemingly disqualified by the mouths of others or the help that you thought you had turned their backs on you? Nehemiah didn’t and was blessed for it though he allowed doubt to creep in at times and feared those who ruled over him.. he gave it to GOD and He alone worked it out!

”Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.“

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The requirements of GOD’s creation are to fear Him and to keep His commandments or Word.. every Word that was written for our learning. One day all that we do will be judged whether it be good or evil.. every secret conversation, every heart that isn’t pure and every hand that is not clean as in the things that we do to others as well as what is done to us and how we reacted to those events.

”And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: And establish thou the work of our hands upon us; Yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.“

The writer relays once we have given our lives to the One True and Living GOD wholeheartedly, He will not only establish or set in place the work that He has given to us to do, but also no one no matter what is said or done against you will be able to stop it!

”and said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.“

Final Thought: It is impossible to fight against the will of GOD and expect to win! Gamaliel recognized that GOD was working in and through the Apostles and was used by GOD even being a Pharisee to open up the way so that the Apostles could continue in the work that GOD had given them to do, which was to preach and teach JESUS to people. In his speech, he readily pointed out that there were men that had people follow them but those men soon died and their followers were left scattered. Finally, he concluded that the minds of men and their self professed works would surely come to an end, but the works of our GOD cannot be overthrown or destroyed! So my Brothers and Sisters, the problems that we face that appear to handicap us from being able to complete, the people that rise up against us trying to hinder, derail or slow down the tasks given to us by our GOD or even those who have rule over us in the places that we live in cannot, will not and are not capable of stopping us if we give those battles to the One who created us for such a time as this!!!

”But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.“
