Scripture Reference: Ecclesiastes 3:8, 10, 14; Psalm 37:7, Proverbs 16:4

With all that is going on in the World today it’s only in our human nature to wonder why. Right now as GOD is allowing a Category 2 Hurricane named Helene to smash into Florida, many there are scrambling to uproot themselves to flee to safer areas. In the Middle East, GOD is allowing Israel to continue launching its full arsenal at Hezbollah in Lebanon which has now been going on for nearly a year. Meanwhile in Europe, GOD is allowing Ukraine to hold off the complete takeover of its country at the hands of the much greater nation of Russia while lives hang in the balance on both sides and many have been lost. If you haven’t thought about the current state of the World around us, maybe desensitised would be the appropriate term to use. Notice that I said desensitised, and not oblivious or unaware.

“a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Many may not even accept this Scripture passing it off with a mindset of: “Now why would such a loving GOD say these things to us? What sensible purpose could He possibly have to allow war and hate?” We will soon get to that part, hold please…

“I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The writer simply states that he has witnessed the painful and often exhausting efforts (travail) that GOD has allowed to capture or attract mankind to. The hunger for power drives wars and the excuse of irreconcilable differences powers hate.

“I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.”

You wanted to know the reason that GOD is allowing what we are seeing in our World today? He does it so that His creation will fear Him in honour. As the writer proclaims that he knows that whatever GOD has allowed and will allow to happen is because He wants to and the decisions that He makes (unlike mankind) are final and will go on for as long as He desires. The writer goes on further and says that nothing can test or stand against the will of GOD nor can what He has spoken be hindered, stopped or removed.

“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭37‬:‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Instead of worrying about the next pandemic, or the prices of goods and services skyrocketing, or the wealthy gaining more power and influence over the societies that we live in.. the writer encourages us to wait patiently on the LORD and to find peace in whatever He is allowing to occur. For those who truly believe, it will all come to an end on the day that we hear the sound of the trumpet, the day when the people who died in CHRIST who had Him living in their souls and those who are alive and are still here on Earth who also have His Holy Spirit springing up on the inside will be raised in the air to meet JESUS in new bodies that are not corrupted with sin!!!(1 Corinthians 15:52)

Final Thought: “The LORD hath made all things for himself: Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.” Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In short, GOD allows things to happen even those things that are done by wicked people  with evil intentions.. yes even those heinous deeds have their season or perfect timing and for reasons that we need not to even question, worry about nor waste valuable time trying to figure out. We have all been given the reason that GOD allows what He in all of His infinite wisdom does allow.. it is so that we all, His creations reverence Him in honour and in fear…
