All Are Equal In GOD

153rd BDS – 2/21/2025

Scripture Reference: 1 Samuel 30:21-25

If you live in the United States of America, you well know that what was written in the Constitution and enacted since March 4, 1789 that all men are created equal is about as true as saying that Russia and Ukraine have a great relationship. Not to go political because that’s just not what we do here as what happens in the natural is in the natural and what is in the Spiritual remains Spiritual. In GOD, there are no “BIG Me’s” and “little you’s” no matter who you are. In the same sense, every purpose given by GOD to each individual is just as equally important as the next. Only GOD knows why He gave me this particular set of Scriptures but I trust Him, so let’s dive in.

“And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to abide at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them.”

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭30‬:‭21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

David and his company of soldiers had just defeated the Amalekites and had recovered all that they had taken from him including his two wives and then some. (vss. 18-20) There were those who were so worn out that they could not accompany David in his feat so they were left stationed back at what in military terms is called the “garrison” or a particular place where troops (soldiers) are kept. Keep in mind that these 200 men did not go into the battle against the Amalekites.

“Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.”

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭30‬:‭22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The men that actually went with David into the battle had a problem with the thought of dividing the “spoil” or what goods that were taken as a result of winning the battle against the Amalekites. So much so, that they argued in part that because neither of the 200 men that were too tired to fight in the battle had gone with them, they shouldn’t receive anything. In fact, they basically stated that those men should take their wives and children (those that had them) and be on their way. Isn’t it amazing that even to this day, there are those who think that just because they have tenure in a place or who hold a certain title or who are self-proclaimed “seasoned” (more experienced) or that have remained loyal to either a person and/or a particular place, think that they are entitled to more? In GOD, sure we are to give respect where it is due:

“Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.”

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

However, the key words even in this Scripture are “..that rule well..”. No one should ever think that they are higher than or more deserving than anyone else in any setting especially those who do not know how to treat others, how to communicate with respect to others or how to set aside their personal egos. We are all charged to be humble in and under GOD no matter what our given stature may be.

“For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭14‬:‭11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Simply put, those that think that they are above everyone else will in time be made lower in their rank, brought down low from their seemingly high place in their arrogance and humbled like or not. On the flip side, those that truly trust in and believe GOD’s Word will truly remain humble in both their mind and heart knowing that it is only GOD Who can and will elevate them at the appointed time.

“Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand. For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.”

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭30‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

David took a stance against those who thought that the men who did not fight in the battle should not be partakers of the spoils of war. David told them that everything they had won was given to them by The LORD their GOD who had kept them alive in battle and had been the sole reason that they even won the battle against their enemy. He even went on to embarrass them by asking, “First off, who is even dumb enough to listen to your foolish suggestions?” David said that everyone would receive an equal share both those that did fight in the battle and those that did not fight in the battle.

“And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel unto this day.” ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭30‬:‭25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

David knew what he had to do after that confrontation with the “evil men” who did fight alongside him in the battle. He never hesitated to make it a law in the land that no matter who you were, or what your position was or whether you were a soldier fighting in the battle or someone who waited behind, all would receive equally of anything that was won.

Final Thought: There is not one person on GOD’s green Earth that deserves more than any other person.. not in the natural and certainly not in the Spiritual under GOD. It is only GOD Who even allows us all to wake up each and every morning because of His mercy towards us. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

It is only GOD Who even allows us to function in the capacity that He does. (Acts 17:28, Colossians 1:17, Hebrews 1:3)

So remember and fix it in your hearts or not it’s your choice.. but, ALL ARE EQUAL IN GOD!!!
