Scripture Reference: Isaiah 26:2-4
You’ve probably read these verses a million times and have heard them referenced just as much. Right? Right!!! At a time like this in this current World, peace seems like a forgotten stepchild. The Scriptures give us hope through the instructions within and they both go hand in hand. How soon we forget that our GOD is infinitely wiser than any of us and though He loves us freely, and we could never do enough to earn His love, He still requires effort on our part. What do you mean, you may be saying? Let’s dive in!!!
“Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.” Isaiah 26:2 KJV
The Prophet Isaiah petitions our Father to let loose His loving kindness, unyielding mercy, unrelenting compassion and His comforting peace. However, he made it specific to “..that righteous nation which keepeth the truth…”. You see, almost everyone desires to live peaceful lives, that is those that aren’t driven by power, greed, wealth and control. Is it even possible that a nation can be righteous? Some say it could never be, but GOD says there is and will forever be!!!
“And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.”
Isaiah 11:10-12 KJV
GOD promises to gather those that He has chosen and that in His doing so, they will be a sign to the rest of the World. JESUS was that root of Jesse sent to be not only a Savior to all of us, but an example for all. He is, He was and is to come again and on that we can definitely place all of our hope, all of our joy and it is where our inner peace lives so that we also can look forward to living again!!!
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:”
Isaiah 26:3-4 KJV
There is a promise in this Scripture that follows the call to righteousness (given by some terms means to stay true to strong ethics, maintain sound morals, to be noble in beliefs, virtuous living). For those who believe the Word of GOD, it is total obedience, a submissive will and choosing good rather than evil. GOD promises perfect peace to those who choose to keep their minds on Heavenly things (even in the midst of troubles) while completely trusting in GOD no matter how things may look. The writer encourages us not just to trust in GOD during the good times, not just to trust in GOD for the things that we want, not just to trust in GOD when it is convenient for us, but forever because He alone is the source of the kind strength that will never cease to exist.
Final Thought: “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Romans 15:13 KJV
This Scripture sums up that real “perfect peace” that those that choose to believe either already have and are experiencing and/or are anxious to discover. Perfect peace comes through belief, and belief through faith, and faith through the Word of GOD. (Romans 10:17) GOD wants us to stretch out in the hope that only comes through the power given to us by the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:8), that one day everything that we are going through now and in the times ahead will end (Revelation 21:4). This my beloved Brothers and Sisters, is THAT PERFECT PEACE!!!
