Scripture Reference: Romans 12:2

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

In a World where many want to be “trendsetters” with followers lined up behind them, liking their posts, seeking the attention of anyone who will scroll, stop and engage with their content and eventually idolize them.. this particular Scripture among many illuminates the darkness that has taken over the minds of humanity as a whole. Now this may not apply to all and that is a beautiful thing, but it still causes us to be aware of what could so easily captivate our minds.

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

The number one driving force behind a “conformed” or a socially acceptable way of thinking.. you guessed it, PRIDE! The Word Of GOD points out that not any of us should ever think that we are better than anyone else. Nor should we aspire to be like anyone else. We were all uniquely made in His image, made to worship Him, made to honor  Him with our entire being and in turn, we are instructed to take on His way of thinking.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

Sometimes it’s hard to believe that we can actually possess a mind like CHRIST JESUS. I mean He loved those who hated Him, He suffered and died for all mankind even knowing that many would still reject salvation through His death, He takes on all the weight of the heartaches, pains, disappointments and everything else that we are willing to completely give to Him just because He truly cares.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Final Thought: It is naturally human to want to be liked by others, let’s be real. However, when it becomes an obsession to the point that we begin to lose who we really are in pursuit of being welcomed into groups and regarded in the society around us just to fit in.. the end game can be disastrous at best! Guard your mind, be who our GOD made you to be, don’t settle for fitting in only to fall away from reality and remember that there’s only one uniquely made you!!!

“I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?”
