Scripture Reference: Psalm 34:18, Zechariah 9:12, Psalm 39:7, Psalm 33:20-22
You know sometimes things just don’t go the way that we planned. No matter how many times we experience the “highs”, just like on a rollercoaster the “lows” come just after the hills to mountains that we seemingly have to climb. Why is it that it’s necessary? One of the many questions that rise up when we are standing in the valleys looking at the assumed impossible obstacle(s) standing in our way. Choosing to stay at the point where all hope seems lost is a mindset that none of us can afford to wallow in. I encourage you tonight to look up.. not at others who portray that they know it all and that proclaim that they’ve been through it all, but to our GOD the One that already knew, allows us to go through and Who Is our only present hope!!!
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
Psalm 34:18 KJV
Our GOD unlike others who only stick around while all signs point to the beach breeze sunshiny days, is always with us.. yes even when the pain of disappointment and dishearteningly discouraging moments bring us down to our knees. That’s not even the best part! He specializes in rescuing, saving and recreating those that truly realize that a change needs to occur and are expressive towards Him in honesty of what they did wrong and where they went wrong.
“Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;”
Zechariah 9:12 KJV
If we’re going to allow anything to hold us captive, let it be our hope in GOD!!! What a position to be in.. that is when we are fully facing GOD and are living in His favour over our lives!!! His Word promises that He will double what we thought was possible or what others can’t even perceive is attainable, when everything in us.. mind, body, heart and soul are aimed at Him and Him alone!
“And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee.”
Psalm 39:7 KJV
The writer comes to terms with his thoughts while having a conversation with GOD. Has that ever happen to you? Like literally we know what His word says or we’ve heard it before from someone that it’s good to place our hope in Him. It’s an entirely different thing when you can with emphasis share with others what you’ve been through that led you to the Isle of Hope!!!
“Our soul waiteth for the LORD: He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, According as we hope in thee.”
Psalm 33:20-22 KJV
Doesn’t the thought of our LORD being a constant, consistent champion in our lives by keeping us from ruining us all while showing us that He is defeating every giant that stands in front of us just hit different when we know through patiently waiting the victory is ours? We can absolutely live in that joy, yes even when things look as dark as midnight with no street lights on, because we choose to trust in a GOD who has never failed us and never will! His Word tells us that his mercy on all of us is new every morning and aren’t you glad that He doesn’t hold back His mercy even when we aren’t at our best?
Final Thought: “rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”
Romans 12:12 KJV
There are so many other wonderful Scriptures that bring us back to center when we feel the wait of hopelessness weighing on our hearts.. but this one fits the moment. Choose to rejoice while you’re going through whatever it is that has you in an uncomfortable state of mind and never stop praying to GOD that His will be done in all things.. because our HOPE IS NEVER LOST!!!
