Scripture Reference: Matthew 6:10, Matthew 26:42, Acts 21:11-14
We may never fully understand the will of GOD and why He allows certain things to take place. That’s where trusting Him with our whole hearts is tested. The Scriptures show us countless moments when people just like us surrendered to His will for their lives, even unto their very deaths. Abram(Abraham) was told to get up and go to the land that GOD had promised for His people and by faith, he went without even knowing where he was going.(Genesis 12:1-4)
Have you experienced any “I trust You LORD, Your will be done!” moments in your life?
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:10 KJV
JESUS Himself taught that when we pray, to give way to the will of our Father in Heaven here on Earth just as is it is in Heaven. What He allows has purpose even when it is confusing to us. Yet and still, we can trust in Him that no matter what it looks like or how it feels, it’s all for our good.(Romans 8:28)
“He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.”
Matthew 26:42 KJV
Imagine knowing that your very life will be taken and that you must suffer for the sins of the World around you. That’s exactly what our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST experienced. A living example for us Who submitted to the will of GOD our Father in Heaven just so we would have a chance to make the same choice in our lives.
What haven’t you surrendered completely to His will? Are you willing to serve Him, even if it means sacrificing your very life as you know it?
“And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.”
Acts 21:11-14 KJV
The Apostle Paul chose to ignore the warnings of those who tried to persuade him not to go to Jerusalem because certain danger awaited him. Paul with an already made up mind, stood on the fact that he believed in the will of GOD for his life and was more than willing to die for the Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST. When his mind couldn’t be changed, those around him put him in GOD’s hands and stated His will be done.
Who has tried to sway you from what you know to be true? What obstacles have you encountered that you put or have put in GOD’s hands? Has anything or anyone stopped you from doing what GOD has called and chosen you to do?
Final thought: “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
Matthew 12:50 KJV
If we profess that we are Children of GOD, if we proclaim that we are His chosen vessels, if we say that we want to be more like JESUS.. it all begins when the choice is made to believe His Word and to ask Him for the faith to accept that: IN ALL THINGS, GOD’S WILL BE DONE!!!
