Discouraged, Battered and Beaten: LORD We Need You

86th BDS – 6/8/2023

Scripture Reference: 2 Samuel 2:4-7, 8-10, 17-28, 30-31

In this particular passage of Scripture, we are shown that when one battle is resolved undoubtedly another will arise. But, yet and still we are to trust in the LORD. Easy by any means, being totally transparent with you.. NO, it is not always easy. In our human nature we all want to think that we alone can handle every and any situation that arises.. that is until the feeling of defeat begins to creep in and eats at our minds, weighing down our hearts. For David, when his nemesis King Saul died you would think that his troubles were over, right? Wrong, they were just beginning. But, David trusted in the LORD even while others sought to take his life. Let’s dive in!!!

Psalm 138:7 / 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 / Hebrews 10:35-36 / Psalm 31:24 / Psalm 27

Final Thought: I don’t know about you, but the Word is the only thing that brings renewed strength to me when everything in me wants to throw up the white flag of surrender in this present World. David had every reason to say: “Okay Lord, you know what I can’t take this anymore.. when will I ever catch a break?” Sound familiar? Yeah, of course it does. But, just when we have almost reached that breaking point, doesn’t the Name of The LORD lift up a standard (Isaiah 62:10, Isaiah 59:19) just when the floods of this life are about to seemingly overtake us?!!! YES, ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY!!! My Brothers and Sisters, why would I lie and say that I’m 💯 all of the time, GOD FORBID!!! But, what I do know is to Who and Where to run to!!! (Proverbs 18:10)

Amen, it’s when we reach the point of hopelessness and all our own wisdom, knowledge, and understanding is unable to take us out or deliver us that we will see the greatness and dependablness of God. Has the earlier writers always wrote (were we finish or end is where God begins. Amen
