Scripture Reference: Luke 21:34-36
This life is full of twists and turns as GOD allows us to go through tests and trials that will point us directly to Him. (Hebrews 12:1-3) It isn’t His intention that we carry unnecessary baggage nor to worry of what tomorrow may bring. (Matthew 6:34) Still, there is always a period of time between the beginning of every situation and the eventual outcome. So what are we to do in between those moments?
Grab your Bibles or your devices, and let’s dive in!
“And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.” Luke 21:34 KJV
JESUS tells us that there is a day coming that we all should be well aware of, His return. Until that day, He encourages us not to be excessively engaged with anything of this World. Yes, that means the pursuit of love, happiness, careers, wealth, fame and/or whatever takes our eyes off of Him and consumes our hearts.
“For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.”
Luke 21:35 KJV
JESUS further warns us, that like a trap that has been set, all that are not paying attention to the signs of His return will be caught off guard. (Matthew 24:33-26) Don’t allow anyone or anything to distract you from the truth. Like a loving FATHER, He does not desire for any of us to be lost. (John 6:39)
“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
Luke 21:36 KJV
JESUS instructs us to use the time we have left wisely (Ephesians 5:15-17) observing everything that is going on around us (not with worry) but, continuing in prayer that we are not only ready when He comes, but that our names are written in The Lambs Book of Life (Revelation 20:12-15). We all will stand in front of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST one day.
Final Thought: “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
Philippians 2:12 KJV
We all have a choice once we have been introduced to the truth. We can choose to believe that our time is short until JESUS returns, or not. It is easy to be distracted and that is the truth (we are all human), so let’s not act as if that’s not possible. How we then choose to handle those distractions are on us.. there is only a short time left BETWEEN THE WEIGHT AND VICTORY!!!
